 This beautiful soft leather BUCKSKINcovered NAVAJO BOW measures 51" – it is decorated with Seed Bead Work,Feathers and Braided Buck Skin Leather. The bone tipped arrows measurenearly 30-1/2" in length – feathers and tips are attached to the shaftwith artificial sinew. More than a dozen leather fringes connect beadsand large feathers to both ends of the bow. A magnificent show piecefor your collectible wall. Beautiful beadwork appears on the front ofthe bow. Some bows and arrows displayed are intended for walldecoration – others are functional. Indian warriors gainedstatus not only from their success in battle, but their skills incrafting hunting tools and weapons. Typically Bow woods used are Ash,Black Locust, Black Cherry, Osage Orange, White Oak and Hickory. Arrowswere made mostly from dogwood, yaupon holly, witch hazel and willowbecause they could be smoothed and straighten easily. Arrow points madeof noviculite and obsidian were chipped with a moose and deer antler.Ceremonial rituals focused on power, strength, healing, wisdom andintuition in life's journey and use artifacts such as this bow in toconnect the warrior to his spirit guides.
