This hand built Polychrome Mata Ortiz Pottery is a one-of-a-kind olla by the well known artist Efren Quezada. This high quality ceramic artwork is a highly sought after collectible piece of Mata Ortiz pottery! The unique vessel was fabricated from natural clay extracted from the land surrounding the pueblo of Mata Ortiz in the Casa Grandes Valley of Chihuahua, Mexico. Intricate geometric designs in light cream and black inspired by Mimbres and Southwest Native American motifs were applied to the olla's fired clay terra-cotta colored base. Quezada's unique style emanates from his work. This Polychrome Mata Ortiz Pottery is 8-1/2" inches in height and has a width of approximately 6" inches. He has signed his work with the etched signature of Efren Quezada at its base.
