This Authentic Vintage Navajo Indian Mission Rug is a true one of akind highly collectible piece of hand made Native American art. This isa Pre-Regional Crystal Design. It was made the traditional oldfashioned way, spun by hand. This Navajo made rug was masterfullycreated from genuine all natural wool. And, it is in excellentcondition. There's a very small amount of fraying and wear, but it isso small. This rug is just darn near perfect. The southwestern PuebloIndian Mission design was created from white, red, gray, and black woolthat was colored with dyes made from natural vegetation indigenous tothe Navajo Indian reservation. This rug is a true one of a kindcollectors item! This wool rug is 54" by 34".

J.B. Moore had a fondness for Oriental weaving andpossibly introduced Eastern rug patterns to the local weavers. Anexplanation given by the Navajo Rug Repair Company, experts in cleaningand repairing Oriental and Navajo weaving, lends credence to thistheory. One story about the design origin is that it wasderived from the labels on flour sacs sold to Navajos in the earlyyears. This author has not been able to find any flour sac labels thatshow anything like this design
