This Authentic Vintage Navajo Indian Mission and Chief Wool Rug is atrue one of a kind highly collectible piece of hand made NativeAmerican art. We estimate that this rug was made pre-1920s. It was madethe traditional old fashioned way, spun by hand using an aniline dyeprocess. Aniline is colorless, oily, slightly water-soluble liquid,used chiefly in the synthesis of dyes and drugs. This Navajo made rugwas masterfully created from genuine all natural wool. And, it is inexcellent condition. There's a very small amount of fraying and wear,but it is so small. This rug is just darn near perfect. Thesouthwestern Pueblo Indian Mission and Chief design was created fromwhite, red, gray, and black wool that was colored with dyes made fromnatural vegetation indigenous to the Navajo Indian reservation. Thisrug is a true one of a kind collectors item! This wool rug is 3-1/2' by5'.
